Shooting the Journalist

While I was at the Elmira Maple Syrup festival I came upon this Photojournalist doing her job, I thought It was such a striking scene that I thought It was an ideal candidate for my blog and a touch of my post processing. Hope you like it. I would have gotten more of the girl in the frame but my lens isn't wide enough, gotta work on that.

Great shot, great processing, it seems to have such dimension! What technique did you use????

@Shar: I basically took the raw image, and used the auto settings, then in CS2 I used the channel mixer to create the bw image, I then used a plugin called Lucisart and made one layer for exposure with it, then created another layer with it's sculpture setting at around 40 and watched it pop. I resized and sharpened for web with smart sharpen. The Lucisart plugin, is kinda nifty, it can help make an image pop, turn it into a painting, or cartoon or add texture. It's fairly nice. I mainly use it to help with creating the whole Norman Rockwell feel.

Very nice!! I would have thought that you used photmatix, but I may have to try the Lucisart plugin!
