Well I am back from shooting the ice races, and let me tell you it was cold, I am impressed though by the toughness of my camera it held up better than I did. Anyhow It was fun and I am considering doing it again. Over the next few days I will post some of the more interesting pics from this weekend.

@badala: Thanks, it was pretty cold. I am suprised my little digits didn't drop off :)
well done, nice action photography. Did you find out that the battery was running low because of the cold? How did you manage it? Regards D

@Dimitrios: Thanks. As for the battery I found that it didn't run low at all, I was outside with it from 7am till around 4:30pm and when I went to recharge them at the hotel before the dinner they only needed about 15 mins of charging and they were back to full. I was thinking they would have run low long before then, considering the temperature was around -20c. As for the camera not freezing I am not sure how that worked, there was another photographer with a Nikon and he was having all kinds of problems. I think sometimes you just get lucky, and I don't tend to baby my camera so it's used to being outside.
What an amazing shot with all that snow flying up! Must have been pretty high-risk given the slippery nature of vehicles on ice! Great contrast and lots of detail in the snow, I'm looking forward to the series!
